Travel Information and Arrival Times

All participants should arrive at the JW Marriott by 12:00pm on Thursday, July 28. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and the Welcome program begins at 1:00 p.m. The first official meal of the day will begin with Dinner.

 

Wednesday Early Arrivals: Registration will not open until 2:00pm on Wednesday the 27th. You are free to do what you wish at the resort before that time but cannot check in for the conference before then. Registration will be located in Paradise West.

Ride Share: Attendees are responsible for coordinating ride share/transportation to and from the JW Marriott. Please allow yourself enough time to secure a ride. If you haven’t done so already, please fill out our transportation form with your travel details so we can advocate for adequate ride-share opportunities.

Delegate Travel Reimbursement: 
Only Official chapter General Assembly Delegates are eligible for a $100 travel reimbursement that will be automatically applied to the chapter’s account following the conference. Reimbursements will not be provided for non-attendance. 

 

Registration and Check-In

Registration: As soon as you arrive, please first check in at the Lambda Chi Alpha registration area, which will open on Wednesday at 2pm and on Thursday from 8am-5pm in Paradise West. At the registration desk, you will receive conference materials and other important information for the event. Additionally, you will be given your name badge, which is required for admittance to all programs, workshops, and meal functions. After check-in with us, you may check into the hotel.

Regarding Incidentals

All attendees will be required to pay a fee per night deposit. This is a one-time deposit and can be returned after check-out.

 

*Regarding Open Chapter Balances

If you have not yet paid an outstanding balance, you must do so immediately. To make a payment, please contact Braden Sim at (317) 872-8000 x1404 or bsim@lambdachi.org. For your convenience, Lambda Chi Alpha can process payments onsite by check or through OmegaFi. Failure to make payment before arrival will require on-site payment in Scottsdale to take care of past due balances. Those chapters with past due balances greater than 30 days will not be eligible to vote during General Assembly sessions.  

 

 

Conduct

Alcohol is strictly prohibited at any General Assembly & Stead Leadership Seminar attended by undergraduates. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on site. Those who break the alcohol policy will be called before the Director of Chapter Services and Conduct Committee for expulsion from the event and possible changes to individual membership status.

 

The JW Marriott has a “Courtesy Rule” where guests are asked to be considerate and quiet when using the pools late at night. The pool is open 24/7.

Conference Attire

Please be mindful that it will be hot with the average temperatures in the 90s (degrees Fahrenheit). Make sure you stay hydrated and pack plenty of light clothing and necessary toiletries on top of the required conference attire outlined below.

Everyone, Please Note the Following: Saturday night’s banquet is a formal banquet and dress for that is dark suit, tie and badge. Black tie (tuxedo) is optional. However, shorts or jeans are not appropriate attire for this meal. Hats are not appropriate for any General Assembly or chapter programming sessions.

Undergraduate Stead Leadership Seminar Participants: These participants are expected to dress in business casual for the duration. Nice shorts and a collared shirt or polo are acceptable. Please note, you will need badge attire (slacks, shirt, tie, jacket, and badge) for the Initiation Ritual Exemplification on Friday morning and a dark suit for the Saturday night banquet.

Undergraduate Chapter Delegates:

All participants must wear business attire at all Thursday, Friday and Saturday legislative sessions of sessions General Assembly, which must include a collared dress shirt. A jacket and tie are recommended but optional. Please note, you will need to be in badge attire for the Initiation Ritual Exemplification on Friday morning and a dark suit and tie (tuxedo optional) for the Saturday night banquet.

Alumni Attendees: All Alumni should follow the same rules as stated for the undergraduates, above.

 

Keep in mind that you are representing Lambda Chi Alpha and your chapter at all times.

Vendors: Lambda Chi Alpha Vendors will be conveniently located in the Arizona Foyers. During your free time, and over networking breaks, please be sure to stop by and check out the latest Lambda Chi Alpha apparel and services from our partners' Campus Ink, Herff Jones, and more. Take your photo in front of the LCA Step & Repeat Banner. Exhibits will be set up and open for business during the networking breaks and during the day Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

59th General Assembly Chorus

We need YOU to sing in the International Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity Chorus! All are invited and encouraged to connect with members through music and perform at the Purple, Green, and Gold Banquet. Prior singing experience is NOT necessary. Join Choir Director and ELC Avery Baker, Iota-Beta 941, in Salon 5. Please look to the schedule for dates and times for practice.
